People with prostheses face many challenges in their lifestyle, one of the most prominent being refitting their prostheses due to muscular atrophy. Their solution is to develop a durable, comfortable, and easy to use prosthetic leg socket that allows the patient to refit the limb without the need for clinicians, who are often not readily available to the vast majority of patients in a developing nation on a regular basis. They will be conducting a formal design process for this project, including creating concepts, building and testing prototypes. The testing process will be their primary means of determining success, as it will demonstrate whether or not their solution will actually work for the people who need it.
