The goal of the SolBits team is to contribute to social and economic pressure for a shift from a fossil fuel centered generation of electricity to those based on solar and other alternative energy sources. They propose designing a user-friendly, affordable, and scalable solar energy solution to do this. For this specific time period, the focus is on small-scale implementation for devices also known as the “Baby Bear” tier that will require less than 10 watts. These cells will be designed to be modular and interlocking. Future implementations will expand upon this “Baby Bear” tier by piecing together more base units.
