In recent times, obesity rates have risen dramatically and brought much attention to the impacts and causes of this issue. The H.I.V.E. team’s goal is to reduce the prevalence of childhood obesity by using elementary schools as a vehicle to promote healthy lifestyles. Currently H.I.V.E. has officially begun their program at an elementary school in the Atlanta area. For five weeks, their lesson plans will involve different interactive activities with the students. The following four weeks will involve helping them create a performance piece to perform for the younger students at their school. H.I.V.E. will also be attending recess to help them play more structured and productive games during recess time.
