GC Irrigation

Insufficient infrastructure for irrigation is defined as the lack of infrastructure to provide water to irrigate a sufficient amount of crops that can feed and financially support a family. This problem is prevalent in Burkina Faso, Africa. By addressing Burkina Faso’s specific problems and implementing a solution to the water infrastructure, we hope to provide solutions to other nations experiencing this same problem. We intend to solve this problem using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) method. The goal of this project is to improve the irrigation infrastructure of a village in the Sahel region of Burkina Faso by giving them access to a sustainable drip-water irrigation system.
