The general public does not have adequate knowledge regarding renewable energy and thus are not informed energy consumers. Team TREE believes that the best way to encourage clean (renewable) energy consumption is by educating current secondary school students about renewable energy and its numerous benefits. By developing a curriculum, which integrates both qualitative and quantitative data about renewable energy, Team TREE hopes to be able to encourage the growth of a generation of students who are informed, comfortable, and confident about renewable energy practices. To begin this process, Team TREE is creating a physics curriculum supplement with a hands-on lab component. Following successful implementation at a local high school, Team TREE plans to extend our solution into mathematics and economics classes as well.
