Food insecurity can be defined as “limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods or limited or uncertain ability to acquire acceptable foods in socially acceptable ways” (Cook). Millions of Americans are living in areas of major food insecurity. This food insecurity leads to many health and social problems.
