Many world citizens are characterized as food insecure, leading to higher health-issue rates, mental health problems and stunted growth and development in children. The Heist team’s desired outcome is to decrease the percentage of the population that is food insecure by providing more nutritious options. Their focus would be on the availability and access of these options. These nutritious options would be available by increasing the amount of grocery stores in low-income areas and decreasing the distance between stores and the average shopper.
