Atlanta’s primary public transportation provider, Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), is responsible for the local rail system and the majority of bus services that are intended to serve Atlanta’s population. However, many consider MARTA to be unsafe and ineffective. The GT Transit team hopes to improve the public’s perception of MARTA in order to expand and improve the transportation system in order to reduce traffic throughout the city and suburbs. Without a positive public image, expansion is not possible and without expansion, MARTA’s potential will never be fulfilled.
